Veined white marble
A White Marble Backdrop, the Bathtub Takes the Stage
There is a moment, upon entering, when the eye is drawn upward: light pours from an oculus in the ceiling and ignites the great wall of white marble, traced with grey veins that run like currents beneath the honed surface. Before it, raised on a platform of the same marble, the white oval bathtub waits in silence; around it, dark slate-toned walls recede into the wings and leave the stage entirely to the stone. The shower, enclosed by nothing but sheets of glass, opens into the material without interrupting it; a backlit niche shelters the gestures of daily life, while the round mirror, hung from a leather strap, doubles the depth of the room. This is the story of a bespoke marble bathroom as Michelessi intends it: marble work becoming architecture, a studied contrast of light and dark, the precision of Italian craftsmanship in every edge and every joint. If you desire a space like this, designed around your own rooms, we will walk with you from drawing to installation, slab after slab.
