Michelessi Marble — since 1976

Marble
in motion

Our films: natural stone told through moving images, from eternal Rome to our workshop in Aprilia, Italy.

Our videos

Stone is first beheld,
then it tells its story

There is a simple way to understand what it means to work marble: watch it. That is why we wanted a page of films, where natural stone is not a still photograph but living matter, crossed by light, brought to life by movement. The first film takes you to Rome, the city that taught the world the art of stone: the Colosseum, the colonnade of St Peter's Square, the Pantheon, the angels of Ponte Sant'Angelo, the solemn white of the Altare della Patria. Monuments of marble and stone that for centuries have proved what we have believed since 1976: matter, when crafted to perfection, does not grow old — it matures.

For fifty years, in our workshop in Aprilia, Italy, we have carried that same tradition forward with bespoke marble craftsmanship: kitchens and bathrooms in natural stone, staircases, fireplaces, floors, three-dimensional walls, frames and furnishing elements, through to new-generation materials such as Dekton and Laminam. Every film in this collection was made to show you at close range what words alone cannot say: the vein running the length of a slab, the reflection of a honed finish, the precision of a cut. Make yourself comfortable and let the images lead the way: Michelessi marble speaks for itself.

The film — Rome

Eternal Rome: one minute
of marble, light and wonder

The camera rises above the rooftops of Rome at sunset, opening a one-minute journey through the city that taught the world the art of stone. The Colosseum ignites beneath the evening lights, the colonnade of St Peter's Square breathes in the first light of morning, the Pantheon draws the eye beneath its millennial pediment. The angels of Ponte Sant'Angelo glide past, then the spiral staircase of the Vatican Museums, the solemn white of the Altare della Patria, Piazza del Popolo seen from above, and the Tiber mirroring the dome as day fades.

Over the images, the Michelessi mark and a promise: marble since 1976. This is the declaration of intent of this page: to bind the Italian craftsmanship of today to the tradition that lives on in these monuments. The very material you see here, carved across the centuries, is the one we entrust each day to the hands of our artisans: bespoke marble craftsmanship signed by Michelessi, made in Italy, transforming blocks and slabs into architecture, surfaces and works that speak the timeless language of the Eternal City. If you are searching for a sign that endures, begin here: with one minute of Rome, of light, and of marble.
