Monolithic washbasin in marble resin with large white and rose marble chips and a thread of water from a brass spout in a dark bathroom, a Michelessi vision

Since 1976 — a Michelessi vision

Marble resin,
marble at ninety-five per cent

An agglomerate of natural marble and resin, produced in vacuum-formed blocks and transformed into slabs for floors, cladding, staircases and facades.

Marble held fast — a Michelessi vision

Marble dust,
resin and light

01 In the mould, under the lamp, the white and grey marble grit is still powder: matte, still, waiting.

02 The amber resin pours from the jug and soaks the grit: the surface turns from matte to glossy and translucent, and the grinder draws near.

03 The disc polishes the slab in a cloud of dust and a thread of water: what remains is a pale, luminous surface, its grain sparkling, the lamp inside it.

Vision 01 — Our design studio

A mirror of stone
beneath the gilded light

MIRROR-POLISHED MARBLE RESIN · GILDED CHANDELIER · GOLD MOULDINGS

Design vision: mirror-polished marble resin surface reflecting a lit gilded chandelier, in a dark room with gold mouldings

The marble resin surface lies as glossy as still water: the gilded chandelier is mirrored whole upon it, flame by flame, as on a lake at night. This is a vision from our design studio — resin sealing the marble until it becomes a mirror, in a room dressed in darkness and gold mouldings. A project for those who wish every light in the house to shine twice.

The collection

From block to slab,
almost all of it is true marble

Marble resin is an agglomerate composed of roughly 95% natural marble and a small share of polyester resin: true stone remains the absolute protagonist, and the resin merely binds it into a new material, dense and consistent. It is produced in vacuum-formed blocks of a standardised format — 305 × 124 × 84 centimetres — on state-of-the-art plants; after curing, the blocks are transformed into slabs ready to be worked.

The slabs come in the customary thicknesses of 2 and 3 centimetres but, starting from the block, we can obtain thicknesses on request: a precious freedom for the designer, who can conceive floors, cladding, staircases, sills and ventilated facades in the same material, each element in exactly the right thickness. This is the strength of marble resin: the nobility of natural marble joined to a consistency of colour and pattern that a quarried block, by its very nature, cannot promise.

In the Michelessi workshop in Aprilia, where we have been crafting stone to measure since 1976, marble resin is sawn, edged and finished alongside the most prized marbles, with the care of Italian craftsmanship. Below we present the six variants of the collection: from the fine terrazzo of the two Fior di Pesco to the absolute light of Bianco Thassos, through to the enveloping beiges of Ecru and Crema Light. To each its photograph, to each its story.

Project vision: fior di Pesco Grey marble resin, grey with white and rose marble flakes, Michelessi agglomerate

Marble resin — a Michelessi vision

Fior di Pesco Grey,
a Natural Mosaic

Look closely at Fior di Pesco Grey and you will seem to be gazing at a riverbed: within the grey-taupe matrix surface flakes of white, grey and rose marble, each with its own shape, its own angle of light, its own mineral history. This is marble resin in its most authentic expression: an agglomerate of roughly 95 per cent natural marble bound by a small share of polyester resin, produced in vacuum-cast blocks of 305 by 124 by 84 centimetres in plants of the latest technology.

After seasoning, the blocks are turned into slabs in standard thicknesses of 2 or 3 centimetres, or, starting from the block, into thicknesses on request: from here come floors, cladding, staircases, windowsills and ventilated facades of great distinction. Michelessi's made-to-measure work, handcrafted in Italy by a house that has known marble for generations, brings out its natural mosaic in every destination. Choose Fior di Pesco Grey for surfaces that are never monotonous: every step, every glance will give you a different fragment of this story in stone.

Bianco Thassos marble resin, purest uniform white, Michelessi natural marble agglomerate

Marble resin

Bianco Thassos,
Absolute Light

There is a white that needs no adjectives: the white of Thassos, the Greek island whose marble has illuminated temples and architecture for millennia. Bianco Thassos marble resin gathers that inheritance into a supremely pure, uniform surface, an unbroken field of light that enlarges every room and multiplies its brightness. Its composition unites nature and intelligence: roughly 95 per cent natural marble bound by a small share of polyester resin, in blocks vacuum-cast in the 305 by 124 by 84 centimetre format, in plants of the latest technology.

After seasoning, the blocks become slabs in standard thicknesses of 2 or 3 centimetres, or thicknesses on request starting from the block: the ideal material for floors, cladding, staircases, windowsills and ventilated facades. In Michelessi's hands, made-to-measure work turns this whiteness into architecture: cutting, polishing and laying with the same care reserved for quarried marble. Choose Bianco Thassos when light is your project: walls and floors will become discreet mirrors of the day, and the house will breathe like a terrace over the Mediterranean.

Veselye marble resin, warm white with fine beige speckling, Michelessi marble agglomerate

Marble resin

Veselye,
the Warmth of Antique White

Veselye is a white that has known the sun: a warm, enveloping ground, dotted with a beige grain so fine it ripples the surface like thin sand on polished stone. It is the choice of those who love whiteness but not coldness: it brings light into a room, and with it a discreet warmth that makes every space more welcoming. Its nature is straightforward: marble resin, an agglomerate composed of roughly 95 per cent natural marble and a small share of polyester resin.

It is produced in vacuum-cast blocks of standard format, 305 by 124 by 84 centimetres, in plants of the latest technology; after seasoning, the blocks are turned into slabs 2 or 3 centimetres thick, with thicknesses on request starting from the block. Floors, cladding, staircases, windowsills and ventilated facades find in Veselye a warm and dependable ally. Michelessi tends to each of these destinies with the wisdom of Italian craftsmanship: from cutting to finishing, every step is conceived for your space. With Veselye, white ceases to be a colour and becomes a welcome.

Ecru marble resin, sandy beige with fine white tracery, Michelessi natural marble agglomerate

Marble resin

Ecru,
Lacework in Calcite

Ecru has the precious weave of antique lace: across its sandy beige ground intertwine the slenderest white filaments, embroideries of calcite that travel the surface with the patience of things made by hand. It is a marble resin of understated elegance: the colour is the warm one of Mediterranean stone, the pattern a whisper revealed only to those who come close.

Its composition unites the best of nature and technique: roughly 95 per cent natural marble and a small share of polyester resin, joined in vacuum-cast blocks of standard format, 305 by 124 by 84 centimetres, in plants of the latest technology. After seasoning, the blocks are sawn into slabs of 2 or 3 centimetres, with thicknesses on request starting from the block: thus are born floors, cladding, staircases, windowsills and ventilated facades of refined continuity. Michelessi's made-to-measure work accompanies Ecru into every use with rigour: level surfaces, invisible joints, edges soft to the touch. Bring Ecru into your home if you love quiet elegance: like true lace, the better you know it, the more precious it will seem.

Crema Light marble resin, ivory cream with soft white veils, Michelessi marble agglomerate

Marble resin

Crema Light,
Ivory Swirls

Crema Light is a circling caress: across its ivory cream ground move soft white veils, swirls that wind and unwind like milk poured slowly into a warm cup. The surface has a gentle, almost dreamlike movement that gives rooms depth without ever troubling their calm. It is a marble resin of great compositional sweetness: an agglomerate of roughly 95 per cent natural marble and a small share of polyester resin, produced in vacuum-cast blocks of standard format, 305 by 124 by 84 centimetres, in plants of the latest technology.

After seasoning, the blocks become slabs 2 or 3 centimetres thick, with thicknesses on request starting from the block. Floors that warm the light, cladding that softens the volumes, staircases, windowsills and ventilated facades: everywhere, Crema Light carries its ivory serenity. Michelessi follows its swirls with an expert eye, in the finest made in Italy tradition, choosing for each slab the position where its movement will give the most. Choose Crema Light and your home will have the luminous calm of autumn afternoons.

Fior di Pesco White marble resin, pale ground with multicoloured marble flakes, Michelessi agglomerate

Marble resin

Fior di Pesco White,
Marble Confetti

Fior di Pesco White is a discreet celebration: across its luminous white ground scatter flakes of marble in tones of grey, rose, ochre and black, mineral confetti that make every centimetre different from the last. It is the palest, most joyful version of the classic Venetian agglomerate: a surface that animates floors and cladding with an elegant liveliness, never loud.

The substance is noble: marble resin obtained from roughly 95 per cent natural marble and a small share of polyester resin, produced in vacuum-cast blocks of standard format, 305 by 124 by 84 centimetres, in plants of the latest technology. After seasoning, the blocks are turned into slabs 2 or 3 centimetres thick, with thicknesses on request starting from the block: perfect material for floors, cladding, staircases, windowsills and ventilated facades. Michelessi's made-to-measure work distributes its rhythm with sensitivity: slabs are matched so the grain flows evenly, without clusters or empty passages. With Fior di Pesco White every surface of your home becomes a small natural mosaic: watching it, day after day, is a game that never tires.
