The measure,
to the millimetre

01 The opening waits: in the gap, a golden line states the exact measure.

02 The sill comes down on its straps and turns a few degrees: the profiles find each other.

03 The joint closes to a hairline and the line goes out: the light comes in, the piece is home.

The method

Your marble maker:
industry and the artisan hand

Every home has measurements that fit no catalogue: the window a touch wider, the threshold that must follow an ancient wall, the worktop that must marry a piece of furniture already loved. This is why your marble maker exists. Michelessi products in marble, travertine, natural stone and granite are the outstanding result of two worlds combined: the advantages of industrial production and the perfection of artisan work. State-of-the-art automated machinery of the latest generation guarantees the highest standards of quality; the hand and the eye of those who have worked stone since 1976 give every piece the character of a one-of-a-kind work.

Ask us for a custom product — a windowsill, a threshold, a worktop, a cladding — and we will draw it around your needs, delivering it finished, protected and ready to lay. The finishes are refined one by one, the protective treatment defends the stone from time and water, production times are swift and prices are fair, with deliveries all over the world. The quotation is free: simply tell us the service, the material and the type of finish you desire.

In the cards that follow you will find two examples of this method: the technical sheet that shows how a travertine windowsill comes into being, and the three-dimensional design of a bathroom entirely clad in veined white marble. Because made-to-measure, in marble craftsmanship signed by Michelessi, always begins with the drawing.

Technical sheet of a polished travertine windowsill with double drip groove and beveled edges, 3 cm thick

Travertine

Travertine, Measure by Measure

Every detail has a name, and every name a reason. The technical sheet of this travertine windowsill tells how a made-to-measure solution by Michelessi comes into being: the slab, seen in gentle perspective, reveals a polished surface where the warm veining of the travertine flows horizontally like sand laid down by time, in shades of ivory touched with gold. Below, the sectional drawings disclose what the eye does not catch at first glance: the double drip groove that carries rainwater away from the façade, the polished, beveled edges that soften the profile of the stone.

The measurements speak plainly — width from 15 to 50 centimetres, length from 50 to 150, a thickness of 3 — because in the working of marble and natural stone, made-to-measure is not a promise but a method. This is where Italian craftsmanship meets the precision of industrial production: modern machinery in the service of the expert hand, for windowsills and thresholds that dress your windows in the elegance of travertine. Watch the light caress that honed surface: it is the instant in which stone ceases to be a building material and becomes a detail of architecture, made to last and drawn around your needs.

Project vision: 3D render of a bathroom with veined white marble walls, 2.15-metre washbasin top and wooden vanity unit

Veined white marble — a Michelessi vision

A Bathroom Drawn in Veined White Marble

Before the marble comes the design: lines, dimensions, proportions taking shape as if on a drawing table. This three-dimensional rendering shows a bathroom conceived entirely around veined white marble: the walls open into broad, luminous expanses crossed by grey veining that mirrors itself from panel to panel, composing symmetrical patterns like outspread wings. At the centre, the washbasin top holds the inset basin and understated fittings; beneath it, a wooden vanity in warm natural tones lends a domestic note to the purity of the stone, while the glass-walled shower lets the marble be glimpsed within.

The dimensions are stated without reserve — 1.15 metres for the mirror, 1.80 in height, 2.15 for the washbasin top — because in Michelessi's bespoke solutions nothing is left to chance: the working of marble begins long before the first cut, in the careful study of your spaces and your habits. It is a method made in Italy, applied to the contemporary project: first imagine, then measure, finally create. Looking at this room still suspended between drawing and reality, you can already feel the coolness of the marble beneath your fingertips and the morning light sliding along the veins.
