Marble Kitchens in Latina and Its Province, from Aprilia

Michelessi SRL has worked marble since 1976 in Aprilia, on the Via Pontina at kilometre 45.350: we are in the province of Latina, some twenty-five kilometres from the provincial capital, on the road that runs down from Rome to the sea. For anyone living in Latina, Aprilia, Nettuno, Anzio, Sabaudia, Terracina, Formia, Gaeta or on the Circeo, we are the local marble workshop: the site survey and quotation are free throughout the province and along the coast, the slab is chosen in person in our showroom, and the installation is carried out by our own team, with no intermediaries.

We do not resell kitchens designed elsewhere. Every worktop, every island, every step is born in the Aprilia workshop: measurements taken on site, working drawings, a three-dimensional project, computer-controlled cutting and hand finishing. The same craft that saw us deliver a project in Dubai goes into a villa in Sabaudia or a flat in the centre of Latina.

The area we serve, from the Pontina to the Gulf of Gaeta

The workshop stands at the gateway to the province, on the road that runs its whole length, which lets us follow every job in person, from the first survey to the last day of fitting:

• Latina and Cisterna di Latina: town houses, villas in the Pontine countryside, flats being renovated.
• Aprilia and the towns along the Pontina: our home ground, with showroom and workshop a few minutes away.
• Nettuno and Anzio: the stretch of coast closest to us, just across the border with the province of Rome, with second homes facing the sea.
• Sabaudia and San Felice Circeo: villas between the dunes and the lake, terraces beneath the promontory.
• Terracina, Fondi and Sperlonga: the seafront and the old town centres, often with spaces that call for careful measuring.
• Formia, Gaeta and Minturno: the gulf, with gardens and terraces open to the sea wind.

Seaside homes: the stone outdoor kitchen for coastal terraces and gardens

On the Pontine coast, stone lives under full sun, wind and salt air for much of the year. That is why, for the outdoor kitchens we build for seaside homes, we recommend above all granite, quartzite and sintered stone (Dekton, Laminam): compact, barely absorbent, indifferent to salt and to swings in temperature, and resistant to the acids of lemon, wine and tomato. Marble remains the most beautiful choice and can be used even a few steps from the beach, with a honed or brushed finish, a water-repellent treatment renewed each season and, wherever possible, the shelter of a pergola.

The structure is built in refractory stone, constructed on site and clad in stone; on top sits the 2 or 3 centimetre worktop, cut in Aprilia and already drilled for every fitting. Inside goes everything an open-air table needs: a gas or charcoal barbecue, a wood-fired oven, a griddle, a sink with outdoor-rated taps, a refrigerator and a wine cooler. The technical parts are in stainless steel, because salt air corrodes ordinary metals. On the terrace of a flat the first question is weight: we check the load the slab can bear and, where it is limited, we move to a light frame with thin sintered stone slabs instead of solid stone. The decision is taken at the survey, once we have seen the space, the water, gas and electrical connections and the route the slabs will take. Indoor kitchens: the house in Latina, the villa in Sabaudia

For the kitchen of the home we make worktops, islands and splashbacks in Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario, travertine and Nero Marquina, or in Dekton, Fenix and composite quartz where a technical surface is called for, always in thicknesses of 2 or 3 centimetres. The worktops pair with our modular kitchens Domina, Noè, Era 02 and Volo 01, and for those who love tradition there is the Francesca collection, the masonry-built indoor kitchen. In homes near the sea, where windows stay open for months, we pay particular attention to finishes and protective treatments, so that the worktop keeps its beauty with everyday care. Marble bathrooms and staircases for homes across the province

In the same homes we design the rest of the stone as well. Marble bathrooms with baths, basins and walls shaped from the solid block; staircases with made-to-measure treads, from the straight flight of a villa to the spiral of a town-centre flat; floors, thresholds and window sills. For homes on the coast we suggest low-absorption stones and finishes untroubled by damp, chosen together in front of the actual slabs.

• The free site survey: we come to you, in Latina, on the coast or inland; we measure, check the connections and learn how you live in the house.
• The three-dimensional project: you see the finished kitchen, bathroom or staircase before the first cut, together with the quotation and a schedule agreed with you.
• Choosing the slab: in Aprilia, in front of the real material, comparing veining and finishes.
• Cutting, finishing and fitting: all in our own workshop, then installation by our own team, arranged around your timetable.
