01 Under the spotlight, the freshly sawn terrazzo block: a grey matrix dense with white and cream marble chips, still dull with dust.

02 The disc saw runs along its rail and cuts the block in a jet of water and dust; the crane comes down, grips the slab and lifts it.

03 The slab stands upright and the polishing head passes over it: beneath the dull skin the marble chips resurface, sharp and glossy in the grey matrix. The slab remains, alone in the light.

A raw block, split in two beneath the spotlight: outside, the rough rind of terrazzo; inside, a honed heart crossed by natural veining no one suspected. This is a vision from our design studio — the very portrait of marble terrazzo, a material that holds together the strength of the building site and the grace of polished stone. It is for you to decide which of the two faces to show — or whether to show them both.

The collection

Twenty-eight days
to become stone

Marble terrazzo is an agglomerate composed of roughly 93% natural marble and a small percentage of mineral binder: no resins, only stone and the oldest binder in the history of building. It is produced in vacuum-formed blocks of a standardised format — 305 × 124 × 84 centimetres — on state-of-the-art plants, and then left to rest: a curing period of at least twenty-eight days, so that the binder sets to the very heart of the block and the material truly becomes one.

Only then is the block sawn into slabs, ready for floors, cladding, staircases, sills and ventilated facades. And since we always begin from the whole block, slab thicknesses are obtained on request: the designer chooses the measure, we saw it. It is a material that joins the sober, contemporary character of terrazzo to the minute nobility of the marble chips that inhabit it — a modern, honest terrazzo, made to last, which we craft to measure in the Michelessi workshop in Aprilia alongside our natural marbles, as we have done since 1976, in the finest tradition of Italian workmanship.

The collection speaks two languages: Grey terrazzo, a full grey sown with pale fragments, and White terrazzo, a terrazzo of light. Two variants only, yet capable of dressing an entire building, from floor to facade.

Grey terrazzo,
Stone and Binder in Accord

Grey terrazzo is the happy meeting of two worlds: the nobility of marble and the solidity of terrazzo. Within its grey matrix presses a minute grain of white, grey and faintly rose marble flakes, giving the surface the discreet vibration of an Italian piazza seen from above. It is an authentic marble terrazzo: an agglomerate obtained from roughly 93 per cent natural marble and a small percentage of mineral binder, produced in vacuum-cast blocks of standard format, 305 by 124 by 84 centimetres, in plants of the latest technology.

After a minimum curing of 28 days, the blocks are sawn into slabs destined for floors, cladding, staircases, windowsills and ventilated facades; starting from the block, slab thicknesses can be made on request. Its tranquil grey is a perfect foundation for contemporary architecture: it carries the volumes, accompanies the light, never ages. White terrazzo is a brightness born of stone: across the luminous white ground spread marble flakes in tones of grey, taupe and ochre, dense and minute, like river gravel seen through the clearest water. It is the most luminous variant of marble terrazzo: an agglomerate obtained from roughly 93 per cent natural marble and a small percentage of mineral binder, produced in vacuum-cast blocks of standard format, 305 by 124 by 84 centimetres, in plants of the latest technology.
