Michelessi Marble — since 1976

Stone is the craft,
people are the soul

Michelessi SRL has worked marble for architecture and interiors since 1976: highly qualified people, bespoke works, and the care of an Italian workshop.

Four acts — a Michelessi vision

The journey
of a project

01 Darkness becomes a studio: on the architect’s table, set squares and compasses rest beside the hand-drawn plan. Beneath a single beam of light, paper makes its promise to stone.

Act 02 — a Michelessi vision

The
workshop

02 The block meets the machine: dust rises like gold through the beam of light, beneath the vaults of the workshop. One man alone, seen from behind, guides the work.

Act 03 — a Michelessi vision

The
departure

03 Inside the Aprilia workshop the overhead crane lowers the slabs onto the A-frames of the truck, the straps are tightened and the big door opens just enough: your project is ready to leave.

Act 04 — a Michelessi vision

The
installation

04 In your home, white gloves lower the worktop into place: one last measure, one last breath. The room comes alight — the journey is complete.

The company

Since 1976, marble
crafted to measure

Michelessi SRL, based in Aprilia, in the province of Latina, has worked in the field of marble for architecture and interiors since 1976. The company is home to highly qualified people, specialised in the production of bespoke works of enduring quality: for half a century we have kept the same promise, continuing to seek new solutions that answer the market's demands without ever betraying the craft. We are an Italian marble company in the fullest sense — Made in Italy from the very first day: a workshop that became an enterprise without ever ceasing to be a workshop.

With experience and professionalism we create marble floors, staircases, interior and exterior cladding for buildings large and small, bathrooms, masonry kitchens for the home and the garden, pools, marble tables and much more: from the simplest threshold to the most complex projects, working from your own drawings whenever you wish. We know marble as few others do, tending to detail and form, always ready to meet every need — on our design or on yours.

The company's great strength is the bespoke. Every marble work is born from the meeting of three presences — the client, the designer, the maker — and our technical service accompanies you with surveys, executive drawings and three-dimensional photographic insertions, so that you may see the result before the first cut is ever made. The Design Department, with ideas forever new and in step with the times, will guide you towards a unique work, perfectly suited to your needs.

Inside the company

The Living Hour of Design, Before the Marble

Daylight pours in through the tall windows and crosses an open-plan office caught at its most alive: desks in a row with screens glowing, a whiteboard dense with diagrams and notes, an orange table heaped with papers, and a figure moving through the scene so quickly that it leaves only a trail of motion on the image. It is the snapshot of a work that never stands still, chosen to accompany the company section of the site — because bespoke marble, before it becomes dust and hands and slab, is this too: a season of study, of drawings, of conversation. At Michelessi SRL, an Italian marble company since 1976, every work is born from a design phase that brings together the client, the designer and the maker: surveys, executive drawings, three-dimensional renders that show you the result before the first cut is ever made. Marble is slow matter; design is its swift half, and in this room full of light and paper you can see its rhythm. It is the heartbeat that precedes the stone — the one Italian craftsmanship has always known.

Matteo, the Young Eye of the Design Department

Black and white works on a face the way raking light caresses a freshly honed slab: it strips away the superfluous and leaves the character. Matteo, of the Michelessi Design Department, looks past the edge of the frame with a smile held just in check; the dark jacket and bow tie speak of an unforced elegance, the same measure the company asks of every one of its projects. This is where bespoke marble begins — with a gaze like this. Before the saw ever touches the block, someone imagines, draws, listens. Among the designers who stand beside the clients of Michelessi SRL, an Italian marble company at work since 1976, the executive drawing and the three-dimensional render are the first artisan gesture: hands and eyes translating a desire into a form. Look closely and you can read the quiet pride of belonging to a workshop that became a company without ever ceasing to be a workshop. Italian craftsmanship lives here too, in a simple portrait: a young face, a clean light, and the promise that your marble project will be tended with the same care one gives to knotting a bow tie before an important evening.

Paola, the Care That Listens to Every Project

A soft outdoor light moves through this black and white portrait: behind her, the suggestion of a garden's green; before you, the open smile of Paola, of the Michelessi Design Department. Slender glasses, dark hair with a fringe, a delicate necklace — nothing posed, only the serenity of someone who knows her craft. In bespoke marble work, a project is a dialogue, and every dialogue needs someone who knows how to listen: that is what you read in her gaze, the patient attention with which Michelessi SRL, an Italian company at work since 1976, gathers a client's wishes before translating them into drawings, renders and surfaces of stone. A camera would gladly linger on this face — because behind marble floors, staircases and cladding there are always people, and this trade is made first of all of faces and of trust. If one day you entrust your project to Michelessi, it is from a smile like this that the conversation will begin: simple, direct, with the easy courtesy of things done at home.

Stefano, Open Horizons for Marble Design

A high sun bleaches the sky, the harbour water glitters at the back of the frame, and black and white turns it all into memory. Stefano, of the Michelessi Design Department, turns towards the lens in sunglasses and a pale shirt, one arm resting on the railing, moored boats behind him. It is a portrait that breathes: open air, full light, the kind of ease that cannot be learned, only possessed. Bespoke marble asks for exactly this breadth of gaze — the ability to see the whole first, the house, the terrace, the landscape, and only then to descend into the millimetre with an artisan's patience. At Michelessi SRL, an Italian marble company since 1976, the designers accompany the client from the first sketch to the executive drawing, all the way to three-dimensional photographic insertions that show the finished work before it exists. Craftsmanship, in Italy, has many faces: here it wears that of a young man, on a day of light, looking at the world the way one looks at a block of marble newly arrived in the workshop — searching for the form that lives inside it.

Marika, the Gentle Smile of Bespoke Design

The light enters from one side and glides over long, waving hair that frames the face; black and white softens every contrast, the way honing softens the edge of a slab. Marika, of the Michelessi Design Department, smiles only slightly, with the naturalness of a moment caught rather than composed: a polka-dot blouse, an earring striking a single point of light, eyes turned towards you. In this portrait lives the most everyday side of the craft: the people who, day after day, turn a request into a project, a project into a drawing, a drawing into marble. Since 1976, Michelessi SRL has entrusted its designers with the first stroke of every work handcrafted in Italy: floors, staircases, bathrooms, masonry kitchens, tables. Behind each of those creations there is a face, and this is one of them. Look at it well: it is the smile of someone who knows that your project, whatever it may be, deserves the same care as a work of art — and that stone, when it is drawn with love, gives every bit of that care back.
