Privacy and personal data

This page explains, in a few lines, how Michelessi SRL handles the personal data of visitors to this website and of those who write to or call the company, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

Browsing the site

The site is a showcase. The contact, quotation and guide-request forms reach us alone, so that we can reply. The site uses no cookies for its own operation; it uses Google measurement tools only if you accept them, as explained under “Cookies and measurement tools”. Fonts, images and videos are hosted on the site itself.

The hosting service may record, as any web server does, technical browsing data (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) for the security and operation of the service. This data is not used to identify visitors and remains with the provider under its own terms.

Links to external services

Some pages contain links to third-party services, for example the map to reach the showroom, WhatsApp messaging and the company's social profiles. They open only if the visitor chooses to and are governed by the policies of their respective operators.

When you first open the site, a box appears with three choices of equal weight: “Accept”, “Decline” and the X, which closes the box and counts as a refusal. Until you accept, the site loads nothing from Google and stores nothing in your browser other than the choice itself. Scrolling the page or continuing to browse does not count as consent. With “Preferences” you may accept just one of the two purposes; no box is pre-ticked.

Tools used, if you accept them. Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may also be processed by Google LLC in the United States, on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC is certified, and of the standard contractual clauses. How Google uses data collected on its partners’ sites is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites; Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Purposes.

  • Statistics (Google Analytics): to know how many people visit the site, which pages they enter from, what they read and which channel they come from, in aggregate form. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
  • Advertising, ad measurement (Google Ads): to know which of our Google ads lead to a quotation request, a contact, a phone call, a WhatsApp message or a guide download. We do no personalised advertising and no remarketing.

Data processed with your consent to advertising.

  • the ad click identifier (the gclid, gbraid or wbraid parameter that Google adds to the page address when you arrive from an ad), kept in your browser for 90 days;
  • if you send a form: your e-mail address and, if you give it, your telephone number are turned by your browser into a non-reversible code (SHA-256 hash) and sent to Google in that form, so that the enquiry can be recognised as coming from an ad. Google receives neither your name nor the content of the enquiry.

What we record with your enquiry. When you send a form, we keep with the enquiry a note of whether you had consented to ad measurement. Only if you accepted advertising do we also keep, when present in the page address, the click identifier and the campaign parameters (campaign, ad group, search term, match type): they tell us which ad brought the enquiry. Without that consent these data are neither read nor stored.

Legal basis. Your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code), given through the box. Consent is optional: if you refuse, the site works just the same, forms included.

Retention.

  • your choice (accepted, declined or your preferences) stays in your browser for 6 months (mm_consenso entry); after 6 months, or if we change this policy substantially, the box appears again;
  • the click identifier stays in your browser for 90 days, only if you accepted advertising (mm_clic entry);
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_…): 13 months from your last visit; data in the Google Analytics reports is kept for 14 months;
  • Google Ads cookies (_gcl_au, _gcl_aw, _gcl_gb, _gcl_gs and the other _gcl_…): 90 days;
  • conversions sent to Google Ads remain in our advertising account, in aggregate form, under Google’s terms;
  • the click identifier and campaign parameters kept with your enquiry follow the retention of the enquiry itself (see “People who write to us or call us”).

How to withdraw or change your choice. At any time, from the “Cookie preferences” link at the foot of every page of the main site (the Michelessi sculpture atelier pages and the error page use no Google tools): the box reopens and you can decline, accept or change your preferences. If you decline, the site stops using Google’s tools, deletes the stored click identifier and tries to delete any Google cookies already set (_ga, _gcl_…); in any case they can be removed from your browser settings. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal and the box does not appear, unless you choose otherwise from the “Cookie preferences” link. For Google Analytics there is also the opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

No other tools. The site uses no other cookies, pixels or third-party tools. Fonts, images and videos are hosted on the site itself.

People who write to us or call us

If you contact us by email, telephone or WhatsApp, the data you provide (name, contact details, content of the request, any measurements and photographs of the project) is used only to reply, prepare a quotation and follow the work. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps requested by you and, for customers, the contract. Data is kept for as long as needed to handle the request and, if a job follows, for the related legal obligations.

Data is neither sold nor passed on to third parties for marketing purposes. It is accessible only to the company's authorised staff and to the suppliers who take part in the work (for example carriers), as far as necessary.

Your rights

You may at any time request access to your data, its rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, object to processing and request portability, by writing to info@michelessi.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
